The Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) is seeking an experienced Lady Medical Officer, reporting to the Program Manager and District Coordinator.

Summary of the Role

Responsible for planning and conducting outreach clinics/sessions to provide immunization, nutrition screening, basic treatment, and counselling services to children and mothers in remote areas.
Identify high-risk pregnancies and malnutrition cases, ensure timely referrals, and monitor child growth and development.
Supervise field teams, maintain quality data and reporting, and coordinate with health partners to strengthen immunization and nutrition services.

Key Responsibilities

• In coordination with project team, plan and conduct monthly outreach clinic sessions in far flung and remote areas of UCs to provide immunization and nutrition services including screening of children under 2 years and mothers (especially pregnant women) and provide nutrition supplements 
• Assess the medical and health needs of children and mothers at outreach clinics/points and provide basic treatment included in the scope of the project
• Conduct awareness and counselling sessions on healthy nutrition, IYCF practices, family planning, regular ANC and PNC visits, institutional delivery and routine immunization with a focus on the coverage of zero dose, missed and defaulter children during monthly outreach clinics
• Monitor child growth and development during follow-up visits.
• With the support of LHV, identify high risk and complicated pregnancies and malnourished children (SAM & MAM) and mothers and ensure timely referral from field to the advanced care facilities
• Supervise and support the field team in collecting, compiling, maintaining and reporting high quality immunization and nutrition data from the facility and field to supervisor and central office as necessary
• Conduct supportive supervision and monitoring of immunization and nutrition services at health facilities
• Participate in monthly review meetings and training sessions to improve outreach health services
• Maintain strong collaboration and coordination with all partners including the DoH, WHO/UNICEF, BISP/WFP to ensure the provision of high-quality immunization and nutrition services
• Perform other relevant tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor

Eligibility Criteria

• MBBS with valid PMDC license
• 3 to 6 months of relevant experience and practical skills especially in MNCH, nutrition and immunization 
• Should have a sound understanding and knowledge of Nutrition and MNCH
• Team player with an aptitude of working in a multidisciplinary team
• Organizational and problem-solving skills
• Good time management, communication and team-building skills
• Ability to work under pressure with pressing deadlines
• Should be polite, respectful and courteous to the patients, community and to those who are in authority.
• Ability to speak and understand local languages
