The post holder will undertake the appropriate level of training and is responsible for ensuring that they understand and work within the safeguarding policies of the organisation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise and review financial transactions to ensure accurate data entry by junior staff and ensure timely and proper monthly closing of accounts.
• Develop and monitor project and organizational budgets in collaboration with program teams.
• Preparation of Monthly Budget vs. Actual Reports for the Organization
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and donor requirements.
• Supervise staff handling payments, reconciliations, payroll, and donor transactions.
• Ensure compliance with Shifa Foundation's financial policies, donor requirements, and applicable laws.
• Manage timely and accurate deduction, deposit, and reporting of taxes and withholding.
• Lead the preparation for internal and external audits and respond to audit queries.
• Coordinate with procurement, HR, and admin departments to ensure timely financial processing.
• Review donor financial reports, ensure proper budget utilization, and submit within deadlines.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of ERP/accounting systems.
• Review and approve financial vouchers, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Identify financial risks and recommend improvements to internal controls.
• Conduct capacity building and mentoring of finance team members.
• Any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

Area Specific Responsibilities

• Financial Oversight: Monitor and review daily financial operations.
• Strategic Planning: Support forecasting and long-term financial planning.
• Reporting: Review and ensure accuracy in donor and organizational reports.
• Compliance: Maintain strong control systems in line with donor and audit requirements.
• ERP Management: Ensure correct and timely ERP postings and financial workflows.
• Team Leadership: Guide, train, and supervise junior finance staff.
