Title: Graphic Designer and Video Animator/Editor

Scope of Work and Responsibilities

The Consultant shall assume the following responsibilities.

A. Graphic Design

  1. The Consultant shall design and format project reports and publications, including covers, layouts, tables, figures, charts, and annexes, based on finalised and approved content.
  2. The Consultant shall prepare visual assets for reforming pathway documents, analytical reports, discussion papers, policy briefs, and synthesis outputs, ensuring consistency in style and visual language.
  3. The Consultant shall develop infographics, diagrams, and visual frameworks, including theory of change diagrams, reform pathway schematics, stakeholder maps, and process flows, based on technical guidance provided by the team.
  4. The Consultant shall support preparation of presentation materials, including slide decks for donor briefings, validation workshops, steering committee meetings, and public dissemination events.
  5. The Consultant shall ensure brand compliance, applying Organization and donor branding guidelines consistently across all visual products.

B. Video Animation and Editing

  1. The Consultant shall develop motion graphics and animated videos to communicate project results, policy messages, and technical content for donor communications, social media, and dissemination events.
  2. The Consultant shall edit raw video footage from project events, interviews, workshops, and field visits into polished, broadcast-ready outputs, incorporating transitions, captions/subtitles, lower-thirds, and Organization/donor branding.
  3. The Consultant shall produce short explainer and animated infographic videos to communicate technical and policy content to non-technical and general audiences.
  4. The Consultant shall incorporate voiceovers, background music, and sound editing into video products, ensuring the use of rights-cleared audio and visual assets.

10. The Consultant shall optimise video outputs for different platforms (web, social media, and presentations), applying the correct formats, resolutions, and aspect ratios.

C. Digital Asset Management and General Duties

11. The Consultant shall coordinate with the IT Manager on file formats, storage, version control, and digital asset management, ensuring compatibility with project systems and secure repositories.

12. The Consultant shall revise visual and video products in response to consolidated feedback from the IT Manager and designated technical reviewers, ensuring timely finalisation.

13. The Consultant shall prepare print-ready and digital-ready outputs, including high-resolution files, web-compatible versions, and accessible formats where required.

14. The Consultant shall maintain an organised archive of design files, video files, templates, and visual assets for project continuity and audit purposes.

15. The Consultant shall perform any additional tasks assigned by the IT Manager or Organizational management as appropriate.

Required Software Expertise

The Consultant shall demonstrate working proficiency in the following software and tools:

16. Adobe Photoshop, for image editing and visual asset preparation.

17. Adobe Illustrator, for vector graphics, infographics, and diagrams.

18. Adobe InDesign, for layout and formatting of reports, publications, and print-ready documents.

19. Adobe Premiere Pro, for video editing, sequencing, and post-production.

20. Adobe After Effects, for motion graphics and animation.

21. Microsoft PowerPoint (advanced), for donor-ready presentation design.

22. Canva or an equivalent tool, for rapid-turnaround social media and digital content.

23. CorelDRAW (desirable), as an additional design tool where required.
