General mission

The Data Management Intern will support the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning team by assisting in the archiving, scanning, and cleaning of various types of data. This position will involve working with both physical and digital data, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Additionally, the intern will participate in field visits to collect and verify data. Intern will gain hands-on experience in data management, analysis, and fieldwork within a humanitarian or development context.

 Missions / responsabilities

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

Data Archiving:

  • Organize and archive hard copies of project data, ensuring it is accurately categorized and stored.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the data files during the archiving process.

Data Scanning:

  • Scan hard copy documents and convert them into digital formats for archiving.
  • Ensure proper labeling, categorization, and storage of scanned documents in the appropriate digital systems.

Hard Data Matching and Cleaning:

  • Review and match data from various sources (physical and digital) to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Perform data cleaning by identifying and rectifying errors, duplicates, or missing information.

Data Entry:

  • Input data from both field reports and scanned documents into relevant databases with precision and attention to detail.
  • Assist in verifying entered data for accuracy and completeness.

Field Visits:

  • Support the team in field monitoring visits to collect primary data, conduct interviews, and verify data.
  • Assist in data collection, beneficiary interviews, and report back on any challenges encountered in the field.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation during field visits.
  • Should be willing to participate and accompany during the field visits.

Support in Reporting:

  • Assist in preparing reports based on data collected from field visits and archiving processes.
  • Contribute to the compilation of regular project updates and progress reports.

Job characteristics & general Mission:

  • Familiarity and/or experience with NGOs and international organizations
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and meet short deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter, responsible, mature, highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Good command in written and spoken English
  • Willing to work in the office as well as to travel to the field when required
  • Willing to work in a team as well as independently
  • Any experience of the same nature will be advantageous

Skills:

  • Language skills, Urdu and English (desirable).
  • Having an experience of one years in a good Organization will be preferred. Fresh Graduates / Master degree holder also encouraged to apply.
