A private-sector public health consultancy firm is seeking a GIS Officer for an initial period of 6 to 8 months (Extendable according to the availabilty of funds) to work on various projects. This position is geared toward entry-level GIS professionals with at least 3 to 4 years of relevant experience.
The GIS officer will utilize geographic information systems (GIS) to analyze and visualize public health data, supporting evidence-based decision-making and policy development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Use ArcGIS or QGIS to Collect, analyze, and integrate public health data from various sources (e.g., field data).
2. Conduct spatial analysis, mapping, and visualization to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
3. Develop & Create Shape files or spot maps illustrating distribution, outbreaks, and clusters.
4. Analyze geographic access to healthcare services, identifying disparities and gaps.
5. Add layers of information on spot maps
6. Develop and share distribution maps according to the required variables
7. Create buffers arround spots as per requirements
8. Any other GIS related task assign by senior management

Requirements:

• Education: Master's degree in GIS, Public Health, Epidemiology, Geography, or related field.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in GIS analysis, public health, or epidemiology.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in:
  • - GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.)
  • - Programming languages (Python, R, etc.)
  • - Spatial analysis and modeling techniques
  • - Data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) will be prefered

Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with public health concepts, epidemiological principles, and healthcare systems.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills.
