JOB SUMMARY
The Dispenser reports to a team leader of the medical team or head of the department or health facility manager as assigned by the country team. The position will be responsible to properly store/arrange, dispense prescribed medication by authorized clinician and compile reporting on medicine at the health facility or mobile medical team.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Dispense prescribed medicines, maintain stocks, and maintain daily/weekly/monthly record based on formats provided.
• Strictly adhere to and follow prescription in medicine dispensing.
• Explain in detail and council all patients on medicine use, time/frequency, route, precautions, expected side effects and completion of treatment course, and when to return to pick medicine I f advised by the health care provider.
• Properly label medicine in line with the global standards.
• Provide full course of treatment to patients.
• In collaboration with the pharmacist, ensure availability of medicine all times, prevent stockouts and request medicine timely from the warehouse.
• Ensure maintenance of temperature for medicine storage and dispensing sites.
• Ensure that all patient-related information is accurately registered and recorded within the provided registers.
• Adhere to administrative directives with regards to work schedules, record keeping, patient communications, re-stocking of essential drugs, consumables, and other medical supplies.
• Update bin cards daily.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly consumption record and share with relevant program staff.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure smooth implementation and integration of services.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor as part of the team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Qualified and registered dispenser from a recognized nursing institute with a valid license to practice or an equivalent qualification acceptable in the country.
• Previous experience in same capacity will be an edge.
• Previous NGO experience preferable.
• Good communication and public dealing skills while performing duties in the public health care service.
• Good Knowledge of medicines utilization and dosages.
• Good English reading and writing skills.
