RFP for Hiring of Trainer for Conducting Training on Women Rights & Information on legal aid, entitlements/rights.
1. Background:
Sindh Community Foundation (SCF), a national NGO dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities, is implementing the 'Restoring Social Services and Climate Resilience' project funded by the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). This initiative targets 21 villages across UC Bijora and UC Garrho in District Thatta, aiming to restore basic social services, enhance climate resilience, and promote human rights awareness.
2. Objective:
To empower women with knowledge about their legal rights, entitlements, and available legal aid services through three targeted training events per Union Council (UC). These sessions aim to:
- Enhance Awareness: Educate women on fundamental rights, including marriage, inheritance, domestic violence laws, and workplace protections under national laws (e.g., the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act, 2013).
- Promote Access to Legal Aid: Inform participants about existing legal aid services, mechanisms for reporting violations, and how to seek legal assistance when needed.
- Strengthen Confidence and Agency: Build women's confidence to advocate for their rights, resist harmful practices (e.g., early marriages, forced labor), and participate actively in community decision-making processes.
- Foster Local Leadership: Identify and support potential women leaders from the community to act as rights advocates and resource persons for others.
3. Scope of Work:
The selected trainer will be responsible for:
- Designing an interactive and culturally appropriate training material tailored to rural communities.
- Conducting 06 in-person training sessions (3 sessions per UC in Bijora and Garrho).
- Engaging diverse community groups, ensuring male and female participation.
- Facilitating group discussions, roleplays, and practical exercises.
- Developing awareness materials (e.g., handouts, infographics) to support learning.
- Collecting feedback and preparing a comprehensive report post-training.
4. Target Groups:
- Male and female community members from UC Bijora and UC Garrho
- Community leaders and influencers
- Youth and women’s groups
5. Deliverables:
- Detailed training curriculum and agenda
- 06 successfully conducted training sessions (03 per UC)
- Training materials and awareness handouts
- Pre and post-training assessments
- Final report, including participant data, feedback, and recommendations
6. Duration: The assignment is expected to be completed within 1 month from the contract start date.
7. Trainer Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in human rights, gender equality, and community awareness training.
- Proven track record of conducting interactive, inclusive community trainings.
- Strong understanding of rural cultural dynamics, especially in Sindh.
- Excellent communication skills in Sindhi and Urdu.
- Experience in reporting and documentation.
8. Proposal Submission:

9. Evaluation Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Relevant experience (30%)
- Methodology and approach (30%)
- Cost-effectiveness (20%)
- Trainer’s qualifications (20%)
