Job Title: Regional Coordinator – AJK

Job Purpose:

The Regional Coordinator – AJK will be responsible for the effective leadership, coordination, and oversight of all HELP IN NEED operations within Muzaffarabad and adjacent districts. The position requires a proactive, disciplined, and vigilant individual capable of managing projects in a challenging environment while ensuring quality implementation, team supervision, community engagement, and long-term sustainability of programs in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Implementation & Oversight

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate the implementation of all ongoing and future projects in Muzaffarabad and surrounding districts.
• Ensure timely delivery of project activities in line with approved work plans, budgets, and donor requirements.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, verify results, and address implementation challenges.

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Manage regional staff, ensuring clear delegation, performance management, and capacity building.
• Promote a professional, accountable, and inclusive working environment in the regional office.
• Ensure adherence to HELP IN NEED policies and code of conduct.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Supervise assessment, monitoring, and evaluation activities to ensure evidence-based programming and continuous learning.
• Submit timely and accurate progress reports, including field assessments and situation analyses.
• Coordinate with MEAL and HQ teams to ensure data quality and reporting standards are met.

Administrative & Operational Management

• Oversee regional office administration in compliance with organizational policies.
• Ensure security protocols are implemented and regularly reviewed, considering the sensitivity of the operational area.
• Manage financial expenditures in the region, ensuring budget compliance and transparency.

Stakeholder Engagement & Representation

• Represent HELP IN NEED in regional coordination forums, local government meetings, and with community stakeholders.
• Foster strong relationships with local authorities, civil society, and partner organizations.
• Ensure community engagement and accountability mechanisms are in place and functional.

Strategic Planning & Regional Development

• Identify new programmatic needs, operational risks, and sustainability opportunities in the region.
• Provide strategic input to senior management for long-term planning and expansion in AJK.
• Ensure regional alignment with HELP IN NEED’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.
• Proven experience in leading diverse teams and managing programs in hard-to-reach or challenging environments.
• Excellent knowledge of local context, cultural sensitivities, and operational risks in Muzaffarabad and adjacent areas.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities under pressure.
• Proficient in project cycle management, monitoring & evaluation, and financial oversight.
• Strong communication skills in English, Urdu, and local languages.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region and operate in demanding field conditions.
