Nutrition International’s head office is in Ottawa, Canada, Country Office is in Pakistan. Nutrition International is looking for an IT Consultant to support information systems, improve the performances of current systems as well as the quality of IT support delivered to its staff in Pakistan under the technical supervision of IT Ottawa, RO. By doing so, the IT Consultant will work closely with Nutrition International staff of country office, Pakistan. The IT consultant shall be reporting to Senior Program Associate, Pakistan for administrative purposes and Technical reporting to IT Ottawa.
Overall, Purpose / Broad Function
The consultant will be responsible for first level support of users’ equipment as well as basic troubleshooting on the NI Pakistan systems and Networks. The IT Consultant is responsible for the effective and efficient support to staff in the Pakistan office by ensuring the proper usage of desktops, laptops, servers, printers, network devices, smartphones, software and any other IT related equipment. The consultant will liaise with our Managed IT service provider on routine maintenance (corrective and preventive), upgrades and troubleshooting as well as providing basic end-user training. In addition, the consultant will provide recommendations to the management of IT regarding the purchase of IT related equipment and services. The goal of this consultancy is to improve the overall operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Pakistan office by ensuring that staff are supported in the effective use of IT software and hardware. Also supporting the Pakistan Finance and Administration staff on the inventory and renewal of various licenses and IT equipment
Requested Services and Tasks:
The IT Consultant will work 5 days a week (Monday to Friday excluding National holidays during office hours).
The IT Consultant responsibilities include the following tasks and services but are not limited to:
Assist on IT operations and support NI Pakistan country staff as first point of contact for troubleshooting of software and hardware issues.
- Install, configure and troubleshoot corporate computers, printers and mobile devices.
- Provide basic user support for NI Pakistan staff on software including MS SharePoint, Contracts DataBase (CDB), MS Dynamics GP, MS Dynamics CRM, Board, CLM, One Drive, MS Team and other Windows Server Services, MS Office 365 and other software that are being used at NI.
- Coach staff in using hardware and software more effectively and efficiently
- Liaise with local suppliers and support in the troubleshooting of problems regarding telephone system, Internet, fax lines, meeting rooms and other AV systems.
- Provide required guidance helping NI Pakistan staff in the usage of IT standards. Ensure that users systems are up to date, healthy and protected.
- Ensure NI Pakistan staff has his/her OneDrive application setup as required so that backups are including users’ files in the daily backup jobs.
- Support in the implementation of the Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity strategies when required. Ensure, daily, that local backup systems are executed as planned.
- Work closely with ITOttawa to apply any requested modification in the NI Pakistan IT network or equipment.
- Escalate issues with IT Ottawa or to an outsourced IT service provider as required.
Support in the management of NI’s IT Assets (hardware and software) for both inventory and lifecycle purposes.
- Lead in the procurement process of IT assets (laptop, smartphone, accessories, licenses).
- Track IT equipment in Pakistan office during their lifecycle as per the relevant corporate policies.
- Update the IT assets inventory with newly procured IT equipment.
- Ensure that equipment that has reached its end-life is replaced in a timely fashion.
- Verify that IT equipment is procured with the relevant warranties and that warranties are applied when repair is needed.
- Capture and track all software licenses being used in the Pakistan office.
- Ensure that licenses and cloud subscriptions are renewed when required.
Provide the technical aspect of the on-boarding and the off-boarding of users.
- Request to IT Ottawa, RO new user account with appropriate security and distribution groups for each new staff and consultant when appropriate.
- Setup and configure laptops, accessories, and appropriate software for new employees as per the corporate onboarding package.
- Conduct briefing on the use of NI’s IT systems and the IT processes for new employees.
- Ensure that departing staff have their network and systems access discontinued, their licenses terminated or repurposed and work with Finance team to make sure that allocated equipment are timely returned.
