Z.M.K. & Co. invites applications for the position of Project Manager for UNDP Pakistan’s “Rights-Based Community Stabilization Project” being implemented in District Khyber.

Background:

UNDP Pakistan’s Decentralization, Human Rights & Local Governance (DHL) Project is implementing the Rights-Based Community Stabilization Project to support sustainable, community-based disengagement and reintegration of vulnerable and at-risk youth. The project strengthens local-level mechanisms through psychosocial support, skills development, community engagement, and linkages with academia, community leaders, and government institutions. It aims to enhance resilience, promote tolerance, and contribute to stabilization in target districts.

Purpose of the Job:

To oversee field-level implementation of project activities, ensure effective coordination with the Social Welfare Department and UNDP, supervise the PMU team, ensure timely reporting, and support delivery of psychosocial, educational, livelihood, and community-based interventions.

Job Description (Key Responsibilities)

  • Lead, plan, and monitor field-level project implementation in District Khyber.

  • Supervise PMU staff and ensure coordination with the Social Welfare Department, UN agencies, NGOs, and community stakeholders.

  • Prepare work plans, budgets (FACE-FORM), and progress reports.

  • Support establishment of gender desks, psychosocial services, livelihood trainings, and community-based mechanisms.

  • Facilitate formation and capacity building of Integration Support Groups (ISGs).

  • Strengthen linkages between communities, government departments, civil society, and protection mechanisms.

  • Document lessons learned, case studies, and best practices.

  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates to SWD and UNDP.

  • Ensure compliance with financial, administrative, and technical requirements.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Social Welfare Department and UNDP.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Master’s degree in Peace & Conflict Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field.
    OR

  • Bachelor’s degree with an additional 2 years of relevant experience.


Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in community stabilization, youth engagement, capacity building, community mobilization, insider mediation, and social inclusion/gender-related interventions.

  • Experience in project design, implementation, partnership building, M&E, and community engagement.

  • Strong report writing and analytical skills, including baseline assessments and policy/legal analysis.

  • Understanding of provincial/regional government structures and roles.

  • Previous experience working in KP and the newly merged districts is a strong asset.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and report writing abilities in English and Pashto.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Familiarity with the sociocultural and economic context of the Merged Areas.
