The Position:

The GBV Case Management Caseworker will provide direct support to vulnerable communities including Afghan nationals and host communities; women and girls, affected by gender-based violence (GBV) in target districts of Balochistan. The caseworker will be responsible for ensuring that survivors receive comprehensive and appropriate services through a survivor-centered approach, adhering to confidentiality and ethical standards.

A case worker plays a vital role in providing direct support and guidance to individuals, families, or communities facing challenges. They act as a bridge between beneficiaries and the resources or services they need, ensuring their well-being and empowerment. The significance of a case worker lies in their ability to address complex issues, advocate for vulnerable populations, and facilitate positive change.

Case worker must ensure:

    Assist Project Coordinator in strategic planning by providing input and feedback for case management and referral services.

P r o g r a m m e M a n a g e m e n t :

    Ensure Project Deliverables.

    Implementation of strategic plans in alignment of organization’s vision & mission.

    identify individuals and families in need of support through field visits, community engagement, and   outreach.

    Timely and accurate reporting to both internal and external entities.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conducting confidential screenings and assessments to identify the needs and safety risks of survivors, considering Afghan Refugees' cultural context and of host communities.
  • Developing and implementing individualized safety plans with survivors, tailored to their specific circumstances and navigating potential language barriers.
  • Provide ongoing case management, including follow-up and support to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Linking survivors with appropriate services, such as medical care, legal aid, and psychosocial support, considering availability for Afghan nationals and host communities.
  • Offer emotional support and crisis intervention to GBV survivors.
  • Conduct safety planning with survivors to address immediate and long-term safety needs.
  • Accompany survivors to services as needed and advocate on their behalf to ensure access to resources.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential case records, ensuring cultural sensitivity in data collection.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong referral networks with relevant service providers who can accommodate Afghan nationals and host communities.
  • Document case management activities and outcomes in a timely and organized manner.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the GBV Case Management Officer on case management activities.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in GBV case management.
  • Support capacity-building initiatives within the community to increase awareness and responsiveness to GBV.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate survivor access to services.
  • Participate in community outreach and awareness-raising activities to prevent GBV and promote available services.
  • Ensure all actions respect the dignity and rights of survivors, adhering to principles of confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Coordinate with other caseworkers and service providers to ensure a comprehensive response to the needs of GBV survivors.
  • Attend coordination meetings and share relevant information to improve service delivery.
  • Developing and implementing individualized safety plans with survivors, tailored to their specific circumstances and navigating potential language barriers. This may include referrals to shelters, legal aid, or medical care, considering availability for Afghan nationals and host communities.
  • Perform other related duties as required by the GBV Case Management Officer, Project Manager/Coordinator.
  • Participate in case conference on need bases for high risk cases and as required.
  • Conduct Client Feedback Surveys as per the timeline.

Internal and External Interactions:

  • Program Management Team: Collaborates to align individual case plans with broader program goals and strategies.
  • Field Staff: Works with field teams to implement case management activities and monitor beneficiary progress.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Unit:  Collaborates to refine tools and methods for tracking case outcomes.
    • Community Stakeholders: Advocates for community participation in program planning and implementation.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor Degree or Masters in Social Sciences and other related certificates
  • 1 to 3 years work experience in in the same domain.
  • Proactive and able to perform under stress
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Local Languages (Pushto and Urdu).
  • Ability to take the initiative within clearly defined parameters.
  • Conceptual ability; excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to make timely and quality judgments and decisions.
  • Good Communication skills
