U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for Chauffeur (Security) position in U.S. Consulate General, Lahore, Pakistan.

Basic Function of the Position – The incumbent drives all Motor pool vehicles including fully armored vehicles (FAVs) and unarmored vehicles to transport US Direct Hires (USDH), locally employed staff (LE Staff) and other personnel as directed by the supervisor. The incumbent drives heavy duty trucks, forklifts, and vans to move official property from one place to the other. Operates home to office and other authorized use trips for American personnel at Post.  The incumbent works in different shifts and overtime as necessary and maintains daily trip logs and performs instant corrective and preventive maintenance/repairs on assigned vehicles.

Qualification Requirements:

Experience: Minimum three (3) years of professional driving experience is required.

Education: Completion of Middle School Certificate (8 years of education) is required.

Job Knowledge: The incumbent should be thoroughly familiar with Lahore streets, road traffic regulations, local traffic routes and possess general familiarity with routes throughout Pakistan. The incumbent should have knowledge of the location of other Missions, host Government institutions, and NGOs.

Language: Limited knowledge - Speaking/Reading/Writing in English and Good working knowledge - Speaking/Reading/Writing in Urdu is required. English language skills may be tested.

Skills And Abilities: The incumbent must be able to diagnose and handle preventive maintenance and first-echelon automotive repairs. Ability to detect vehicle defects and report immediately to the concerned authorities. Must quickly and calmly evaluate risks and alternative actions always assuring the maximum safety of passengers. Must be able to deal with high level officials in a relaxed and competent manner. Must possess a valid local HTV (Heavy Transport Vehicle) driver’s license for minimum 5 years to operate heavy duty vehicles including fully armored vehicles, trucks, and water tankers. Skills and abilities may be tested.
