U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for Chauffeur (Marine Security Guard) position in U.S. Consulate General, Lahore, Pakistan.
Basic Function of the Position – The incumbent serves as the dedicated chauffeur for the Marine Security Guard Detachment. Drives motor pool or Detachment vehicles including Fully Armored Vehicles (FAVs) to transport equipment, Marine Security Guards, or other personnel as directed by the Detachment Commander. The incumbent works in different shifts and overtime as necessary. Maintains daily trip logs and performs instant corrective and preventative maintenance/repairs on assigned vehicles. Performs any other official task as assigned by the Marine Security Guard Detachment Commander. The incumbent will be directly supervised by Motor pool supervisor while work guidance will be provided by the Detachment Commander.
Qualification Requirements:
Experience: Minimum three (3) years of professional driving experience is required.
Education: Completion of Middle School Certificate (8 years of education) is required.
Job Knowledge: The incumbent should be thoroughly familiar with Lahore streets, road traffic regulations, local traffic routes and possess general familiarity with routes throughout Pakistan.
Language: Limited knowledge - Speaking/Reading/Writing in English and Good working knowledge - Speaking/Reading/Writing in Urdu is required. English language skills may be tested.
Skills And Abilities: The incumbent must be able to diagnose and handle preventive maintenance and first-echelon automotive repairs. Ability to detect vehicle defects and report immediately to the concerned authorities. Must quickly and calmly evaluate risks and alternative actions always assuring the maximum safety of passengers. Must be able to deal with high level officials in a relaxed and competent manner. Must possess a valid local HTV (Heavy Transport Vehicle) driver’s license for minimum 5 years to operate heavy duty vehicles including fully armored vehicles, trucks, and water tankers. Skills and abilities may be tested.
