Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager – Academics will play a key role in planning, implementing, and monitoring academic programs to ensure quality education delivery across the organization’s schools and educational initiatives. The role requires expertise in lesson planning, curriculum alignment, Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE), academic data management, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong reporting and analytical skills along with a deep understanding of academic frameworks and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development and Syllabus Alignment
- Ensure curriculum implementation and alignment with national/institutional standards.
- Review and align yearly and term-wise syllabi across all levels, with special focus on ECCE and foundational learning.
- Coordinate subject-wise planning to maintain consistency and quality in content delivery.
2. Lesson Planning and Assessment
- Develop and review detailed lesson plans aligned with learning outcomes.
- Support teachers in creating engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans, especially for ECCE.
- Design and monitor formative and summative assessment tools to track student progress.
3. Academic Data Management
- Collect, organize, and analyze academic performance data for continuous improvement.
- Maintain records, and academic documentation for reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Generate timely academic performance reports for internal use and external stakeholders.
4. External Collaboration and Liaison
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with external educational institutions, curriculum experts, and training providers.
- Coordinate academic partnerships and joint activities with educational stakeholders.
- Represent the organization in academic forums, meetings, and collaborative projects.
5. Report Writing and Documentation
- Prepare comprehensive academic reports, analysis summaries, and proposals.
- Document academic progress, challenges, and achievements regularly for internal and donor reporting.
6. Academic Support and Oversight
- Provide subject matter support to academic coordinators and teaching staff.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training modules.
- Ensure academic policies and practices are followed at all levels.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of ECCE frameworks and methodologies.
- Proficiency in academic planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in report writing.
- Ability to manage academic databases and use education-related data analysis tools.
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Sound knowledge of current academic trends and pedagogical approaches.
- Good command over curriculum and academic operations in the education sector.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Education, , or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in academic management or curriculum planning.
- Experience working in education-focused NGOs or public-private school systems preferred.
- Familiarity with ECCE programs and government education standards is an asset.
Work Environment:
- Office and field-based work with regular school visits.
- Occasional travel for training and external stakeholder engagement.
